Overview

Section

Fintdex is a trade escrow platform for importers and exporters. It helps both sides follow a clear process: create an escrow, submit required documents, verify them, and release funds only when the agreed conditions are met.

Funds protection

The platform enforces the escrow steps so money isn’t released until conditions are satisfied.

Document workflow

Buyers request documents. Sellers upload them. Verifiers review and approve/reject with notes.

Dispute resolution

If there’s a dispute, mediators review evidence and vote for a fair outcome.

Quick start (Buyer)

Section
  1. Go to Create and connect your wallet.
  2. Enter the seller address, amount, and choose the required documents.
  3. Review the preview screen (Truth Screen) and confirm the escrow.
  4. Track status anytime in Escrows.

Before you create an escrow

Make sure you have enough balance for the payment amount and transaction fees. If you don’t, use the “Buy” button inside the Create flow.

Roles (who can see what)

Section

Fintdex is role-based. Certain actions and documents are only visible to the relevant parties.

Buyer

  • Creates escrow and defines required documents
  • Can raise disputes with reasons and evidence
  • Can view documents for escrows they are part of

Seller

  • Uploads required documents
  • Marks goods as shipped (once documents are approved)
  • Can view documents for escrows they are part of

Fintdex Verifier

  • Reviews and verifies documents (BoL and required docs)
  • Approves/rejects with notes
  • Can view documents for verification

Mediator

  • Reviews dispute evidence and votes
  • Can view dispute documents/evidence
  • Cannot change escrow terms

Documents & verification

Section

Buyers can require specific documents. Sellers upload them. Verifiers review and either approve or reject.

Common required documents

  • Bill of Lading (BoL)
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Packing List
  • Certificate of Origin
  • Insurance Certificate (if applicable)

Verification outcomes

  • Approved: document is valid
  • Rejected: document needs correction (notes provided)
  • Pending: waiting for verification

You can manage documents and logistics from Documents.

Fees, timelines, and reports

Section

Fintdex shows a “no surprises” view before you confirm an escrow, including fees and key timelines.

Truth Screen

Preview fees, deadlines, and worst-case outcomes before confirming.

Escrow timeline

Each escrow has a visual timeline so both sides know what’s next.

Post-deal report

Open or download a deal report for accounting and record-keeping.

Security & privacy

Section

Document access in the app

The UI limits document viewing to the buyer, seller, verifiers, and mediators for that escrow.

Important: IPFS is public by CID

If a file is uploaded unencrypted to IPFS, anyone with the CID can fetch it from a public gateway. For true confidentiality, documents must be encrypted before upload.

Server-side uploads (best practice)

Uploads are proxied through a server endpoint so provider credentials are never exposed to browsers.
